Why Sony gives me hope

A long, long time ago, Sony came out with Beta, which competed head to head with VHS tapes. Beta was superior to VHS. But VHS became the standard. Why, you might ask? Because VHS had easier licensing, and was cheaper. It was easier to get on board. You can see the same thing with Macs and PCs. Apple came out with the Mac, and kept in a closely guarded design. IBM came out with the PC, and allowed "PC clones". Because of this, PCs became the standard. Politically Correct


2nd September 2006 Society & Politics -
The term politically correct seems to thrown around a lot these days. It's slapped on almost everything, both good, and bad. It's gotten to the point were it's almost a useless term because it covers such a broad range of topics and incidents. It's to the point where I simply don't want to use the word anymore, and will purposefully ask other people what they mean when they use it. I've met many people who seem to try to be the positive kind of politically correct, though must admit I seldom hear them use the word.
