I get some very intelligent citizens of the United States of America leave comments on one of my websites. But I get a lot of things like the following: Shutup about Iraq and OUR policies and international affairs....why can't you Canadians worry about your own? O, wait...nevermind. This just shows why I tend to assume that USAers are ignorant. The above quote says that other people should stay out of the internation affairs of the United States of America. Right-wing doublethink

I've just discovered an example of doublethink in neo-conservative ideologies. Doublethink, loosely defined, is when you believe two mutually contradictory ideas at the same time, and use which ever one is useful (or needed, or mandated) at that particular time. Not all conservatives believe this. But if the ring leaders are to be believed, they actually think the following about liberals. The Canadian Parliament was debating same-sex marriage back in 2004, I think. One things the Liberal Party of Canada said was that the Canadian public was divided on the issue, with a slight majority favouring it, but an large majority favoured same-sex marriage when you looked at the younger population (say, under 35).
