My last post was about new technology that grew out of the space program. This one is a post to an article about technology that grew out of science fiction. ...

I've found many inaccurate stereotypes when people talk politics. For starters, many people think there are just two sides: left, and right. This seems extraordinarily silly. For example, if you were to take the World's Smallest Political Quiz you would find that there are no fewer than 5 categories of how you may sit, politically. So, please, let's drop this left/right false dichotomy. I should point out, there is a left, and a right in any political sphere. But there are other parties, too.
I bring this up because I read someone saying that the left-wing (liberals, or socialists) ...

Windows XP brought us the "New Technologies File System", which allows you to do some advanced stuff. For example, you can password protect directories (or folders) so no one else can view the contents of that directory.
However, the name is quite silly. It's not actually password protected. Access is just restricted. And here's were we get in to a problem. If you format or change your Windows installation, or delete the user who had access to that directory, you will no longer be able to access the data in the directory.
In order to regain access to this directory, you simply need ...

I suppose that this entry is actually very much related to the entry Kiasu. It's a word that describes the competition we feel in every day life. It doesn't mean competition to get money, or anything like that. It means being afraid to loose, usually at very, very silly things. It means you want to be the first in line at the store, the first to get going when the light turns green.
When I drive my car I watch the traffic light ahead of me. If it turns red I tend to take my foot off the gas, even if I'm a block away form the traffic light. I'll just slowly slow down and come to a ...

A billion is a big number. I mean, it's really big. Most people don't have a true grasp on how big a billion really is. However, there is another problem. What is the numerical value of a billion? Well, that could depend on where you live. You see, there are two systems: the "American" system and the "Britsh" system of counting. (Both of which were made by the French.) Here is what a billion looks like in each numbering system:
1 000 000 000 American billion
1 000 000 000 000 British billion

Perhaps it's not enough to point the finger at morons like Alan Keyes. Perhaps showing non-morons would help educate the average moron.
My religion does not support homosexuality, but I do. I was asked why I was supporting and marching with the homosexuals in parades, when according to the church, homosexuality is a sin. I responded that God gave people free will. God gave people the right to choose-even to choose sin. That's why there is a heaven and a hell. So I will fight for people to have the right to go to hell if that's what they choose. I'm not here to judge. I was placed here to ...
